A 2021 audit by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education flagged Swampscott for the economic disparities among Swampscott’s 3 elementary schools.
The quality of our kid’s education should not depend on where in town they live.
Swampscott’s smallest elementary school is its only ADA compliant school – meaning kids with accessibility needs are not fully-integrated with all of their peers, and may be separated from siblings and neighboring children.
Space limitations result in each elementary school having unequal special education services.
Finally, an equitable learning environment and resources to ALL our kids no matter where in town they live.
Finally, special education facilities and services will be equally available to ALL our kids.
Finally, a single ADA compliant building with first-class educational, emotional, occupational, and physical services available to ALL our kids.
Finally, an opportunity for all our amazing elementary school teachers to work together, collaborate, and support ALL of our kids.
Finally, ALL of our youngest learners meeting, learning, and growing with ALL of their peers!
